Using the nvidia site I purchased a video card that they said would work with Aero, the GForce 7300LE with 256mb ddr2. I have it installed and installed Vista, but Aero isn't working. I then installed the Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor and it says my card doesn't support Pixel Shader 2.0, though all other aspects are covered. I have the nVidia vista driver installed. Please help.

GForce 7300LE installed, Aero not working
Have you checked to see if you have the most recent BIOS updates for your MOBO? I had trouble with Vista and my graphics card till I updated mine. Also how much main memory do you have on your system? I could not get Aero to work on my system till I upgraded from 512MB to 1GB although I have heard that others got Aero to work with 512. And to top it all off after I did the memory upgrade and got Aero to work I found to be distracting and of no benefit so I disabled it.

First of all I'm not sure that the Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor will
even work correctly when installed under Vista (if that is what you did). It is intended to be installed under XP to evaluate your hardware for its compatibility with Vista.
Secondly the Nvidia Geforce 7300LE is a DirectX9 card which absolutely supports Shader Model 2.0 and 3.0. My guess would be that you have a driver installation problem. While the 7300LE is certainly not a top of the line card it should be more than adequate to run the Vista Aero Glass UI.
